McNeil Lodge #586 F&AM of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky and District #15 travel to Huntsville Alabama to help celebrate the Bicentennial of Helion Lodge #1 F&AM, the first Masonic Lodge established in Alabama to be chartered by The Grand Lodge of Kentucky.

From McNeil Lodge #586 F&AM, located in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky

On August 19 and 20, 2011, the Brothers of McNeil Lodge #586 F&AM, located in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, along with District #15 in Kentucky, traveled to Huntsville Alabama to help celebrate the Bicentennial of Helion Lodge #1 F&AM, which was the first Lodge organized in Alabama and was granted their charter by The Grand Lodge of Kentucky on August 29, 1811.
We were greeted and treated not only as brothers but just like family. The Lodge was opened to us on Friday the 19th for our viewing and the next day was the start of a beautiful and long day consisting of all three sections of the Master Mason degree conferred in both the Alabama style first and then in our own Kentucky version.
Both the Grand Lodge of Alabama and the Grand Lodge of Kentucky were very well represented by many of their respective Grand Line Officers and they all were most pleased with the work that was done. Our deepest thanks to all the Brothers in Alabama for making us feel at home and a special thanks to our very own Most Worshipful Grand Master Don Yankey for asking us to do this. It was a honor to represent you and the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, and we most certainly look forward to maintaining our relationships with our Alabama Brothers in the future!
